For years, we have operated as an internally focused property management company, managing assets owned by our parent company. This year, we are expanding into third-party management and building Open Management as its own independent growth engine.

That shift requires more than accurate reporting. It requires steady financial leadership, scalable systems, disciplined controls, and forward-looking forecasting. The Director of Finance will play a central role in that transition.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and elevate a national accounting team across a multi-entity real estate portfolio.
  • Protect and strengthen a tight monthly close while preparing the organization for growth.
  • Oversee complex financial operations – including multi-entity accounting, debt oversight, cash management, and internal controls.
  • Partner with executive leadership to ensure our financial infrastructure supports long-term scalability.
  • Help build the next phase of this company – responsibly and intelligently.

What You'll Own

You will own and elevate the financial backbone of a multi-entity, multi-state real estate company.

Finance Leadership

  • Lead and develop a 9-person accounting team, including international team members
  • Set performance standards, reinforce accountability, and build a culture of ownership
  • Restructure roles and responsibilities as needed to support scale

Finance Infrastructure & Controls

  • Protect and strengthen a disciplined monthly close process
  • Evaluate and refine systems for scalability and redundancy
  • Strengthen internal controls and documentation to reduce key-person risk
  • Lead ERP improvements or upgrades as needed

Cash Flow & Financial Stability

  • Ensure disciplined oversight of multi-entity cash flow
  • Manage mortgage payments, property taxes, insurance payments
  • Maintain strong lender relationships, monitor debt balances, and ensure debt compliance
  • Anticipate liquidity needs as we scale into third-party management

Compliance & Technical Oversight

  • Maintain GAAP compliance across entities
  • Oversee tax coordination with external CPA firms
  • Ensure policies are consistent, documented, and enforced

Growth & Expansion Support

  • Lead financial integration of acquisitions and new properties under management
  • Prepare the organization for third-party management growth
  • Build systems capable of supporting increased scale
